Newcomer Award sponsored by Thoroughbred Industry Careers and Marcus Oldham College

Thoroughbred Industry Careers and Marcus Oldham College take pride in sponsoring the Newcomer Award, emphasising our industry’s appreciation for emerging talent within the thoroughbred industry. This accolade recognises passionate individuals who have embarked on a career within a stud or stable environment for a duration of up to five years.

What key qualities define winning this Award?

Nominees for this Award are those who have dedicated fewer than five years to the industry, whether in a stud, stable, or supportive role and have made successful contributions to their employer. These individuals showcase a vibrant enthusiasm, a thirst for learning, and a keenness to excel in the various roles they’ve undertaken, marking the initial phase of their journey within the industry.

Roles that fall under consideration include:

Stud and Stable Hands, Track Riders, Strappers, Educators, Stallion Nominations Staff, Thoroughbred Rehomers, Stud or Racing Secretaries, Vet Nurses, and Assistant Foremen.

These roles represent just a few among the many positions eligible for nomination within this category.
