The Leadership Award celebrates individuals who embody excellent leadership traits. These include adeptness in people management, a dedication to staff mentorship and support, a commitment to workplace health and safety, a passion for continual improvement and a display of business acumen. The winner of this Award also becomes eligible for the Thoroughbred Excellence Overall Award.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for this recognition, nominees must be actively involved in the thoroughbred industry, specifically within a stud or stable environment. Those nominated for managerial or supervisory roles should demonstrate outstanding leadership qualities, showcasing dedication, expertise, mentorship, and positive contributions to the overall success and well-being of the industry.

Roles that fall under consideration include:

Foaling Manager, Broodmare Manager, Stallion Manager, Stud Manager, Farm Manager, Yearling Manager and Spelling Manager, Assistant Managers, Foremen, Trainers and Assistant Foremen, Track and Maintenance Managers and Head Gardeners.

These roles represent just a few among the many positions eligible for nomination within this category.
